Lol @ Alex Gordon hoping and praying for a walk from Verlander.

If it's close, Verlander is going to get that call 10/10 times because he's the best pitcher in baseball.

Gordon has to know that.

Completely. And it's not like it was a ball... It was on the black, but certainly a strike. The pitch before that one was an even better pitch to take a rip at, albeit it a change up. Looking to walk in that situation with Verlander on the mound is just ridiculous, and reeks of low confidence. This team is really struggling in all facets right now.

This.

Two seasons ago, I stepped back from the situation and said "The Royals are never going to win."  Two years later, another "I believe," "Our time," etc. season is disappointing.

They're losers and Kansas City fans are just battered wives.  From the outside, watching Royals fans continually hope and be disappointed and embarrassed but continue hoping and hoping just looks pathetic.

Don't spend a dime on the royals, you will be supporting the state of missouri and they will start making in roads in all of our recruiting.

rough ridin' Royals.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Minus the abortion of a series that was cleveland, We've been in every game.  We've had a chance to win every game, but as young teams often do, failed to capitalize.  Our pitching isn't good.  Is anyone really surprised?  Ned has made some poor in-game management decisions, something he is kinda known for.  The offense has been disappointing, but if you really think that Hosmer and Gordon's struggles are going to last forever, come forward so I can call you a rough ridin' dumbass.  We've looked great defensively, and Danny Duffy is ahead of schedule in terms of progression.  This season will be average.  It's not "Our Time", but we're close.  We've seen flashes and we've seen guys struggle.  That happens when your players are 23-24. We'll be fine.

OT: pretty cool pic my old man sent me of the "fight" (pfft).

oh yeah. I just can't give up on them. I've tried in the past, and i always end up still watching their games. Although i haven't watched the last couple and won't until they win at least 1.

It's sports, rooting for a team, hoping they will get better and being excited is far from pathetic.

Ok guys:

Obviously the Royals aren't really this bad of a team. And although all I really hoped for was a .500 or better season, I can accept that that's probably unlikely this year. The central teams obviously have our number and their going to abuse us all season long. Our starting pitching isn't going to be as bad as advertised and our bullpen isn't going to be as good as advertised. I still strongly believe the offense will come around. This is a recipe for a slightly better than average Royals baseball season, which I can deal with. Case in point, I think this is still a young unexperienced, but very talented baseball team with lots of upside for the next 3 or 4 years.

But if I have to listen Rex Hudler try to "simply" the game for the next 3 or 4 years I'll probably become a Tigers fan or cease to follow baseball at all.

"Not that bad" doesn't lose 10 straight, and start out the season 0-9 at home.

This might just be the worst team in baseball history. Laughing at Rex is the only thing keeping this team remotely watchable, and I still can't handle more than about 20 minutes of it.
