Frenchy just signed an extension, Gordon will undoubtedly sign.  The only question is whether or not the Royals go after Melky now, next year or at all.  Remember, that Cain is waiting in AAA.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Melky has had a career year.  The problem is his OBP is inflated by a career high batting average.  He may just be coming into his stride as a major league hitter.  He's 27 and most guys hit their peak/plateau at that age, but it is less likely to be sustainable BA wise.  He is a below average CF (though he would be above average in the corners), and the future is uncertain as far as his hitting is concerned.

If say he hits .275/11/66 (his career averages) with an ops of .728 is he even replacement value in CF next year?  Frenchy is more likely to continue his current pace.  I like Melky though and hope the Royals keep him around, especially if he performs during the first half of 2012.

If that is the case I see no harm in using Cain in a deal to try to pick up some starting pitching.

what makes you think Frenchy has a better chance of keeping this pace? just curious.

Instead of asking questions and saying retardo things on a messageboard, maybe you could start actually watching some games?  :ck:

Because walks don't normally fluctuate nearly as much as batting averages.

A chance for K Staters to gather this weekend.   I'd be there, but I'm stuck out here in SW Ks.

The dude has also led the league in K's like every damn year.  I'd rather have Butler.  :dunno:  The Tigers, White Sox, and Twins all have depleted farm systems, while the Royals keep calling up dudes like Giavotella and Perez.  There are lots of reasons why so many people are high on the Royal's near future.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?  Free agency does not require you give up your farm system.  And honestly wgaf about his K's?  His career OBP is higher than any Royal this year and his career OPS .882.  So yeah, 25 year old Billy is better than clearly washed up Dunn, guess you nailed that one.

As for the Royal's near future?  See: Pittsburgh Pirates.  The Royal's Starting Pitching is going to suck, and seriously suck for some time.  Go look at the seasons of John Lamb, Mike Montgomery, Chris Dwyer....I mean where is the pitching going to come from?

The Tigers have a good rotation and Jacob Turner.  The Indians just went out and got Ubaldo.  The Twins are the Twins.  So I guess that gets you past the White Sox when they blow this thing up and fire their coach and GM.  Congrats.

Most bigtime players are traded before they hit the free agent market and you do have to give up minor leaguers to get them.  Hell, CWS still had to give DC their first round draft pick for compensation.

Moose is killing the ball lately.  8 game hitting streak, hitting over .500 during the streak.  What's most impressive is how well he's handling lefties.

nice to see. He always starts off slow, but it was getting scary.

OT: A Blue Jay needs to get pelted in the bottom half of this inning.

Sent Treanor back to TX for some cash.  Curious is Brayan is cool with being Perez' backup for the forseeable future or if they will trade him and bring in an older, journeyman type?  (I figured that role would be filled by Treanor.)

I would be more concerned with the fact that all of those players suck.  I'd trade that loser Bubba and Melky for Devin Mesoraco.
