Man, Really wish we woulda traded Butler. Just a horrible player and teammate.

I kind of like the new nickname for Butler.

And it has a story similar to the OOD name: http://www.pinetarpress.com/?p=8913

hopefully everyone picked up on my sarcasm, not looking like everyone did. Yes, love the nickname. Even got play on Baseball Tonight, apparently.

Sorry, I spend a lot of time on Royals bbs, there is a palpable Butler hate there.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

anyone else hear about dayton's most recent comments ?

something to the effect that KC can only sustain a 55-60 million dollar payroll.. and in order to win will have to love each other more and be a tight knit family and stuff.

gonna go  in my closet now.

when will i learn, when will i ever learn

I guess Tampa is able to produce good teams with a similar budget.  I actually think KC would really support a winning team better than Tampa does, thus freeing up more bucks.  Plus, teams like KC get like 40 mil in revenue sharing, how in the hell can they only afford another 20 or 25 mil on top of that?  If Dayton won't spend money to make money, sell the team to a real man.  Like Mark Cuban.

I know next to nothing about Pina but looking at all the young guys on the field tonight, it's hard to not feel pretty good about the near future for the Royals.

Guess I used the wrong wording in my post the other day. I'm not hoping to trade Butler, in fact I've had a few wet dreams about the potential of the R's lineup with Butler, Hosmer, Gordon, and (when he gets it going) Mous in the heart of it and guys like Cain, Gia, Perez/Pina, Esky, and Myers filling it out. But considering how bad their rotation is if somebody was willing to send us a young, true ace (Kershaw/King Felix type) for Butler and someone like Colon I'd do it. Melky or Frenchy for a 2 type would be preferable of course, but then we're left hoping that Duffy, Montgomery, Lamb, Crow or Odorozzi becomes an ace. I think one of them will, but it's still a gamble.

Btw, if Glass would sell the team to someone like Cuban I would :woot:  :drink: :pbj: :jerk:(w/o eye roll)  :emawkid:(blue/white) for probably a week straight.

Paulino has some filthy stuff.  I could see him being a pretty solid 3 or 4 guy.  Too inconsistent to be a 1 or 2, IMO.  Gio looks like he has better range and better speed than I was lead to believe.   The pieces are there.

I know Gio isn't a leadoff type guy but maybe he's able to continue being a sparkplug guy.  Guess He's always been thatg type of guy, would be nice to see him continue at the majors level.  RIP Getz, I really dug ya.

Butler is good. I don't know if he's a good teammate and don't care. I don't think the Royals should trade him just to trade him by any means, but he shouldn't be off limits.

I'm sure Dayton would like to spend more, but you know, he doesn't own the team or anything.  He can't really sell it either.  Glass sucks.  DM is doing a pretty damn fine job with what he has to work with.

I notice you left out '07.

But seeing as '04-'06 were substantially worse, I'm left wondering why you chose as you did..

'04 was particularly sinister. Juan Gone and Benito Santiago, Together We Can and all that.. Then we trade Beltran for crap after the season has tanked and we eventually lose 100 games.. Maybe it was a typo.. I don't know.

Maybe you're just one of those tortured souls who would rather malign those of us who actually hold out a little hope(however misguided it may be) for the boys in blue.

I'm not sure. But this..this I know. 2012 will not be the year.

Nope, it's 2013 pal. Bank on it.

Whoops, didn't mean to leave out '07... As a fellow dedicated Royals fan, I'm also holding out hope for 2013... but I just can't help but be scared that if our pitching prospects don't pan soon we are going to waste a lot of good careers of the young hitters we have now.. at least until we trade them away...
