The Royals guys on Twitter have mentioned how they don't have an off day until September 12th so that will probably tax the bullpen guys a fair amount. Not to mention Lorenzen leaving early yesterday.

Now seeing mentions in my feed about the bullpen being taxed due to the double header and four game series, too.

Ugh, broken thumb for Vinnie and done for the reg season. Hopefully Erceg didn't break a finger too. Unbelievable luck on a routine play. He lets that go, it's an easy step on 2nd to first double play. Instead it cost them the game, the regular season for Vinnie, and however much time he is out for trying to make a bare handed play with his pitching hand. I know it's just a quick reaction, but he has to pull that hand down. This sucks.

Good grief lay off him. He's been lights out and even on Wednesday he was just giving up fluke hits with soft contact. It was a fluke play. Yeah it was unfortunate but it's a reaction play and he's trying to make an out. It's not like some bonehead play where he forgot how many outs or missed a base or something.

We can still win the division and make a run. Play Salvy at 1st 2/3rds of the games and save his knees for October, hope that DeJong has some timely bombs, trust the starters to keep the team in every game.

It sucks but I'm not throwing in the towel or blaming a player who tried to make a play. Sheesh.
