Votes have already been coming in for days, and now we're making some minor changes like not closing Oak st, which runs through the middle of their previous renderings. This is bc Main st would not be able to handle the additional traffic from Baltimore (bridge over 670 removed), Grand (closed on game days) AND Oak combined.

To me the larger issue with the renderings is the 670 cap itself. The original proposed cap was just denied federal funding, and the royals are showing an expanded version of that cap. No idea who would pay for any of that. If you only looked at the renderings you would incorrectly assume the royals are paying for all of it

They are not helping themselves.  I bet the chiefs are considering ditching them if this fails

Good news everyone. Sherman said that they may or may not demolish some stuff east of Oak. Who knows!!!!! But, if everyone votes yes, he will tell you right after the vote!!!!

Like, i'm not one to assume that all Billionaires are inherently smart. That is just not true, there are many ways these people become billionaires. I am really starting to consider the fact that John Sherman is a complete rough ridin' idiot though.

It's just very disappointing Phil, you've had decent KC takes over the years.

I don't understand why there are not concrete plans that the team can roll out and say.  Here is exactly where the public funds are going and how they will be invested in the stadium/community.

I agree that they should, but I think it's pretty clear why they don't do this

I wouldn't call this plan any means necessary. I wouldn't knock down the Kauffman PAC for downtown baseball or Union Station.

I much prefer East Village as well. It would remove some low income housing but not much. MoDot and the Feds squashed that site per what I've read.

What does everyone think of this Jake Eisnberg radio guy? Listened to him start up yesterday's game and the whole describing the uniforms to the nth detail was kinda neat at first but it's getting a little extreme.

the royals plan to swing at every pitch thrown by the opposing pitcher regardless of where it is thrown is going to take me some time to get used to.

It is BS. If they build in the east, they have to build a stadium and an entertainment district. If they cram it in crossroads, they can build less and get the same amount of taxpayer money. If I had to guess, this was the plan all along and the east and north were just smoke screens. That is why most of the businesses in the area were shocked to hear they were considering the KC Star building. They didn't tell anyone.  John Sherman can go eff himself IMO.

they would in no way "have" to build an entertainment district in EV. They are still committing to a village at the crossroads site and the tax money either way is going to the stadium build, the private money (sherman's) was going to whatever is done in the village piece either way.
