Cle plays Det 7x. I am hoping they go 5-2 or at least 4-3 vs them. We get Clev at home games 160-162, so they may be resting some of their everyday starters and some of their starting pitchers

We have held the ChiSox to 3 or less in 5 of the 6 games up there this year. Pitching needs to keep that going so we can get a series win this weekend.

Looking back soberly, you needed at least 3 of the following not to happen for us to return to the playoffs:

1. Gordon's massive slump
2. Kendys massive slump
3. Moose's injury
4. Cain's injury
5. Hosmer's medium sized slump
6. Starting the season with Omar at 2B
7. Soria joining the team
8. Medlen/Young in the rotation
9. Duffy starting in middle relief
10. Hochevar's injury
11. Davis's injury
like 15 other things etc

We got way better performance out of cheslor and Paulo than I expected so that probably helped us at least keep it respectable.

oh no doubt. but we'd have gotten probably another 12-15 HRs out of Moose than we did Ches. That right there is worth a couple extra Ws

1)#4-5 combined really hurt in the month of July when we went 7-19.
2) hate that Moose got hurt, but Cheslor hit .321 from end of May til about 2nd week in August.
3) Hoch getting injured wasn't a good thing, but he was up and down with an ERA almost 4.00. In his absence Strahm has been great and Moylan/Flynn done nice job when called on in the 6th/7th. Ned may have used Soria a little less with Hoch here, and then again maybe he doesn't
4) All of those long slumps and mini slumps really affected us on the road from mid April thru July.
