volkie is pitching pretty well.  i think we can dispense with the theory that he is a double agent.  it was just a mistake.

Prospective new rule: if no one is on base, the hitter gets to decide if they want to run to first or third (run the bases backwards). Subsequent baserunners have to go the same direction for as long as someone remains on base

is the purpose of this to eliminate the shift?

I wonder why Cain swung at that pitch above his head.  Double agent?

i'll feel real good for volkie if he can go 1-2 more and leave with just the one run.

it makes home field advantage more advantageous.

Yeah, I mean it's huge for us having 4 games at home. I just never watch NL baseball and it's just dumb

i mean because you can pitch your pitcher in one half inning and then ph for him in the next.  pretty big advantage.

Dang.  I didn't want to see anyone on base this inning.  Work to do.

3rd time vs Harvey. Remember, we were down 3-1 going into the 6th vs him in game 1.

i wonder if it would make sense to let batters choose to run directly to second base in some situations.  like maybe on ground balls.  or maybe on any struck ball, but if a runner chooses to bypass first or third and run directly to second, then they can't advance further on that play regardless of what happens.
