Also, no one even bother to worry about "oh what about such and such's contract in 2016 or 2017" until after the world series. focus is 100% on the 2015 Royals moving forward.

The Tigers say they will stand pat, citing last year's red hot Royals. Adorable.

Third baseman who can play second and the corner outfield spots. It would be the three latter posits--Moose isn't going anywhere.

Yanks are also paying part of Prado's salary this year and next. Maybe even the year after, can't remember. Those payments follow him wherever he goes.

are the royals trying to improve the team or just cash in?  why the eff are they asking for cash on every deal?

i'm already wondering which pitchers will be on the playoff roster. I hope Guts gets the Ibanez treatment. stick around in the dugout and high five and junk, please don't go out there on the field and get in the way.

yeah.  it's not at all common on deals like cueto, though.  i'd love to know how much cash that was, and if what lesser prospect they could have sent instead of lamb if they hadn't wanted a payday in the same deal.

it's either cash or prospects, wacky.  i know you don't think beyond a day into a future, but these teams aren't just throwing in cash to be nice.

unless they have more injuries, i don't think there will be room for him.

I don't think the addtion of cash impacted who we had to give up. Probably it was cash or some loser A ball guy they throw in

we'll never know, because how much money it was never gets published.  your theory doesn't make sense though.  the royals weren't trying to pick up a loser a ball guy.  they were trading for a major league pitcher.  the reason they got cash back was because they sent prospects that both teams agreed were worth more than cueto.  maybe it was just a small amount, and maybe it was the only way to get the deal done because the reds were insisting on those specific guys.  i don't know, but considering how cheap this team has always been i'm suspicious.
