i never said it was unfair.

also i am pretty sure Moustakas is incredibly worried about getting his batting average above .200

you don't think that?

Why should he be worried?  This organization has never held him accountable before.

Which is the problem.  The whole attitude smacks of entitlement and arrogance.  Like he's too good for some scrutiny over his job performance.  You don't want the media to question whether or not you deserve to be on a Major League Baseball team, then don't have the second worst batting average in the league.
Do your job, have a little humility, and act like a professional.  It's not that hard.

Just listened to Dayton on 810. His basic stance on everything is "I believe in these guys". Its infuriating to be close to being good but not able to compete for a division or a pennant

This organization's skin needs to toughen up.  This very .500ish looking team may well mean that they traded Wil Myers for 170 wins over two seasons, no playoff appearances and a what is going to be a $7 million set-up guy next season.

Eight years in, you don't get to act as though you still are the smartest guys in the room.  You don't get to strut around The Plaza on your 86 win season as though you've actually accomplished something.  You know what else?  You don't get to be indignant by questions related to your former second overall draft pick that is hitting .161/.226/.348 on the heels of a .233/.287/.364 2013 season.

And to the Royals credit, this franchise hasn't actually had any pressure of real winning expectations since the mid 1980's.  This "we're actually supposed to win" attitude is all new to them.  So, I'm willing to give them a little bit of a pass when they act like amateur hour dumbasses when they have to deal with the expectations that come with the territory.

Rainy and the RR need to recognize that Wil Myers blows and so does Jake Odorizzi.  Wil Myers strikes out every 3.5 at bats, only hits for power at Yankees Stadium and Camden Yards (where everyone hits for power), and is a disaster in the OF.

Any comment about ROY will be met with Bob Hamelin and Angel Berroa.

wabash, so you think Moose "ruined the day" for the Royals? I mean how completely backwards is that? he won a freaking game for the Royals, but did not cooperate with Danny Clinkscale's curmudgeonly face and so now the day is ruined? oh ok. to me it made me smile and it was awesome.

Athletes and sports executives get paid millions of dollars to produce acceptable results. Local radio and newspaper folk get paid tens of thousands of dollars to take them to task if the results aren't there. I don't think the relationship is tilted in favor of the media in the least.

Man, I feel like an idiot now. I really didn't realize that Jose Lima had died. I guess I should have taken the hint with the Dylan Meier comment.

Mocat, I don't care if Danny or BITB or Soren get mushed by athletes and coaches, that's not my issue. My issue is the arrogance that this organization and team has, with the "we don't even get enough credit in our own market" attitude. I guess they're realizing some of us don't consider finishing 3rd equal to winning a world series.

Slimz nailed it. Moose is just doing what he's seen Ned and Dayton do. Act like giant babies, and act like they're above reproach.

yeah that part annoys me too and slimz per yooge just nails it. my issue was that the media are acting like giant babies also, but if you want to dismiss it because they're not millionaires i guess vaya con dios as they say in the 2009 zac brown band hit single Toes

I hope Moose mashes a 3 RBI double and then mushes the media every game from here on out. This team needs a villain, and I nominate Moose.

Agreed. I don't want any of the players to have fun. Because after all, this IS a business...
