kk and danny are just up in arms that Moose mushed them after the game.

danny: tell me about your big hit today
moose: vargie pitched a great game today
danny: what about that big hit you had today?
moose: vargie just keeps going out there and competing doing great work for us and helping us get a win today
danny: one more time. do you have anything to say about the big hit today?
moose: vargie has been great for us all year and today he just kept it going, it was great to watch him roll today

now danny and kk are going on and on and on about it, saying he screwed up big time and he ruined the day for the royals

i don't think sending Moose down will help him tho. as sys pointed out, Moose mashes in AAA. he mashes in spring training. he mashes everywhere, except up here. so he needs to figure it out up here to mash up here.

o

Whatever strategy they have, is not working, so a plan of just keep doing what we're doing doesn't work.

They haven't tried sending him down mid season, letting him mash, then bring him back up. Who knows, maybe just serious talk of it will "fix" him. Either way, his ceiling and his value are much high than Billy and that's why I'm worried more about fixing Moose than Billy.

I'd still love to have Santana back but Vargas has been very good so far.

for however much crap they get for drafting, trading and teaching hitting, and basically everything else, the current royals mgmt seems to be great at getting good pitching for the dollar.  maybe vargas will suck for the rest of his long-ass contract, but right now he's kicking ass like a bargain badass.

and getting santana was a huge rough ridin' steal last year.

I'm pretty sure we overpaid for Vargas and somehow he has still been a bargain. I kind of want the Royals to experiment and see how much of our pitcher's success is just really good defense. Like, bring Lima back and put him on the bump and see what happens. Maybe our defense can make anybody look way better than they really are?

Isn't Vargas' contract just four years?   Doesn't seem terrible for a 31 year old.

It was a joke, pretty obviously. I just think our defense covers a multitude of sins by our pitchers, and kind of wonder how good our pitching actually is, because some of our pitcher's results and their peripheral stats REALLY don't match up.

How do you think Dylan Meier would do?

And MOose is pretty fantastic.  Any guy that has the second worst batting average in Major League Baseball and plays on a team one game over .500 in a year that they're expected to make the playoffs for the first time in 29 years, and gets up in the front of the media and acts that idiotically deserves some major props.
