Let's hope Luke's UCL problem will cure with rest. I'm not that optimistic, however...so many of these UCL problems end up with TJ surgery.

Santana to fill the rotation spot Luke was striving for, and to consequently increase the BP depth? Like to think so, but I'll bet Santana sticks to his guns and continues to demand more $ than he's worth. Royals would sign him, but not for that much $.

If he's looking for $50 million over four years then I'd offer 12 or 12.5 for one year with a clause that allows for a trade to a contender if the Royals aren't in the hunt by a certain date, and work from there. We don't know what KC can get from Duff' and Ventura. Will Chen be able to start more than a half season? Vargas is worse than Santana, and Guthrie is a longshot to match last season's production. No one wants Davis to start again. Santana could really solidify the staff. Sure, he could regress as well but another quality arm can only help.
