i can assure you i am not a bandwagon jumper, i understand there is no way for you to believe me, but when the broncos suck ass this year and i still cheer for em you might.....i am not from kc, so that's why i don't like the kc teams....nothing to do with bandwagonin it. and i still dog my own team if the opportunity presents itself, like when that stupidfuk drafted Tebow!

Having lived away from Kansas for 15 out of the last 20 years, I am about to officially cut the remaining threads of Royals fandom. I am just about ready to quit admitting that I am a Royals fan, as of now the only kinship I have with anyone is the copious amounts of Ohio transplants in these parts who are Indians fans. The Orioles fans have gone underground . . . the Yankee's, Red Sox and Phillie fans have all enjoyed themselves very much over the last few years, and the Braves fans of which there are many around here are happy again as well. The Royals are a dead organization with an absentee owner.

The Chiefs on the other hand are starting to reel me back in, because at least they look like they're trying to do something, which more than anyone can say about the Royals.

yeah. good thing too. because last season almost did me in. watching zack grace us with the best season the AL had seen in a decade - and nearly losing the Cy because we couldn't give him any run support...

coming into this year i only cared about every fifth game. but moustakas, hosmer and montgomery are lending me hope again.
today, i read a chat at baseball america that said the royals may have the the #1 minor league system overall. we'll see.

I'm from NY and could be bragging about the Yanks and the Giants all day long. But I live in KC and feel like it's my responsibility to follow the local teams now. I'm not a huge fan of either sport though so who gives a eff!

I went to saturday's game. Of course they lost. Go to 4-5 games a year. Haven't seen a win since 2004, possibly 2003. Not sure why I bother anymore.

The first 8 games I ever saw were wins. Struggled along at about .500 for the next decade or so, but now the bottom has fallen out.

PLEASE. Wake me up when Glass cares enough to pay for a team in the top 10 of the MLB. And since Glass forces the team to draft based on "signability" (cheapness) you know we're not even bringing in the best young talent. It's not brain science, we'll continue to suck as long as Glass owns the Royals.

Dude, If you ever want KC to raise their payroll to the Top 10 in baseball, they will need Mark Cuban to buy them. It ain't gonna happen with Glass. But just looking over the stats your quoted from the last 4 years....it's progress.

Face it...KC is a small market team. And how do small market teams succeed?? The Draft. You obviously haven't paid attention in recent years, but the Royals have spent more money in the draft than pretty much anybody. And it is starting to pay off. You wonder how the Rays have been knocking on the Yanks and the Bo Soxs doors the last 3 years?? Home rough ridin' grown talent. That's how. Small market teams start from the ground up. Look at the the Rays, the Rangers, the Padres, and the Twins(not so much anymore)....it's not a big secret.

As far was anyone can tell, Glass hasn't been the issue lately, it's been Moore signing overpaid veterans(Guillen, Ankiel, Pods, Kendall, Jacobs) and taking up playing time for rising talent. Well after this year's trade deadline, it's looking like things might be changing....

This guy's blog is about the best read you can get. I would suggest reading it sometime. I agree it's harder to win consistently with Glass as the owner, but it can be done.
