They are looking for a RH bat to come off the bench. He has decent power. They are doing what the Royals previous management never would, not over-value their own guys. Yeah we're giving up an arm for him- but a Single A arm, and getting back a known commodity.

if the royals make the wildcard, it'll pretty much be entirely on the back of the white sox (of which there are many).

standing on the back of the sox is a prereq. the royals' closest WC competition are the twins, who are 9-1 vs the sox

royals finish 12-1 against the white sox. the royals are 11 games over .500 at the moment.

seems more promising than the guy they got from washington.

not sure i get the lorenzen pickup, except that he was cheap. doesn't seem any better than marsh. maybe they eventually turn one of them into a reliever and get some upside.

One thing that has been mentioned on Twitter is that Lugo and Ragans have already exceeded the most innings they've pitched in a season which raises the question of whether or not they'll require DL stints. It was pointed out Ragans velocity is already down a tick. Lorenzen can slide into the rotation should either of them need to miss time.

Needed that one last night. I'm not sure they have the horses against playoff caliber teams, but who the hell knows. Unexpectedly fun season regardless. Hopefully Bobby keeps being other worldly to make up for the other holes.
