Hammel's last 14 starts, he has allowed 12 Runs in Innings 1-4 (1.93 ERA)
Royals have scored 4.57 runs in those 14 games. Our record is 6-8

Thats astonishing. Even with Hammel struggles in the 5th-7th, its astonishing. The Bullpen hasn't helped in some of these games. So why Hammel & Ned not pulling him are 2 main reasons, they aren't the only ones. None of those games, did Hammel give up more than 2 runs threw 4 full innings.

If we pull our heads out of our butts, this is what we need for rest of August :

4-2 vs Cleveland. Must have winning Record
4-2 or 5-1 at WhiteSox & Oakland
4-2 at home against Colorado/Tampa

13-5 or 12-6 almost surely gets us back into a WC spot.

Cleveland would lose 4 of 6 to Us
They get Boston 5x and NY 3x
They play at TB and at Minnesota 3 each.

Didn't know moose was hurt, so the pr decision makes more like 3% sense

The pitching must start performing better. We were 22-30 and the only dreadful series we had offensively was the Baltimore one. The other 56 games we are ave 5.19 runs

Boston was 29-25. They have since gone 36-24 while scoring 4.78

Houston started the season 43-18. Best offense in baseball was ave 5.51 winning over 70%.

Starters ERA in 2nd half is basically right at 5.00
Minor, Alexander, Maurer, Buchter are 4 of the 5 arms we trust in mid to late innings. They have a combined 4.50 ERA since July 1. That's just not gonna cut it.

Since June 14, Soria/Herrera have had some failing moments but those 2 have combined for a 2.67 ERA. Moylan over that same duration has a 1.93

So the 4 mentioned in post above need to be better and be closer to what these 3 have been last several weeks.

5 ER in 6+ vs this lineup is embarrassing. Half of these Sox I've never heard of. First 2 guys hitting 240 & 200. 2 more guys under 215. So it's 3 Gordons and 1 Esky among the 9 batters.
