This is the right move. When you don't have Salvy in the lineup, a 7-8-9 of Buterrible, Escobar, and Gordon is pretty tough to overcome.

I can't see a situation where Gordon is an everyday player in 2019. Just doesn't seem fathomable.

Alex last year had a 1st half OPS of 656 and a 2nd half OPS of 721 and many fans were very unhappy with his offense.  He never had a month lower than 615

He was 456 the first 35 games this year , and 556 his last 41 games. This isn't a slump. It's worse. Not sure it can get fixed, but sitting him for a little bit or sitting a majority of this month is the only smart option
