Melky has a .779 OPS for the season.

In the last 7 weeks, Boni has a .353 OBP & .447 Slug

Last 40 games he can't even hit a 600 OPS. Just so discouraging

he's not as bad as Gordon, makes much much less money, has no readily available replacement, and plays a position not normally depended on for offensive production. also people still remember how adorable his braces were

There's a lot of good hitting SS in this league. It just happens he's got a negative WAR of -0.9 and ranked 11th at his position in the AL.
