For all those chicken littles ITT who keep saying we're going to suck for 10+ years, if we play the next 2 months right with trades, we can upgrade our future big time. Cain and Moose have good value, let's get something for Vargas, and let's just suck it up and send Herrera to the Nationals.

As for Hollywood Hosmer, I guess lets see if he's worth anything to the Yankees or something, if not try and get him on a QA this offseason I guess. I really would not want Dayton's job right now.

i don't see the point to not dealing everyone.   Our long term contract good players will be used up by the time our newly acquired prospects are good enough to make a difference.

It's more about how bad the a Royals are about getting extra base hits and HRs with dudes on the bases.
I mean last year we had 53 extra base hits when we had 2 or 3 guys on base.  This year we have 2.
21 3-run Home Runs or Grand Slams last year. Zero this year.

The single-single-double-single "Keep the line moving" thing was a big part of success for a while. But those teams still would get 4 runs with 4 hits in an inning by driving the ball in the gaps and getting timely homers.

We had good 8th innings back to back games in Houston. That sums up our only big innings.  Pretty sad.
Heck, even getting 2 runs in back to back innings would be nice to do at some point this year
