where do we have to be on September 20 to still have a chance with 12 games left?

10-7: 79-71 screwed
11-6: 80-70 probably 1-2 games back
12-5: 81-69 either right there or 1 game back
13-4: 82-68 holy crap guys we're in it
14-3: 83-67 book travel to bean town

Yeah, with 12-5 we either win each series with no sweeps or sweep 1 and split/lose one series.
I do think we have to get to that 81-69 mark. At 80-70, we are likely still having an uphill challenge having to go 8-4 or 9-3 last two weeks

13-4 would be awesome.  We would be in great shape to get 88 wins.
Unless Balt gets hot, I don't see anyone getting 90. Detroit still plays the O's for 3, and have 13 vs Us/Cle, and they have not faired well against those two. Houston plays next 16 vs winning teams.

Townie, you said your bar for success is to be in it until football season. No one should've had that attitude since the day we traded Wil Myers. The bar is higher. There are more teams ahead of us than behind us in the AL.

That last two nights were disappointing.

Its going to be tough to make it.

I haven't given up hope though.

I've still enjoyed this season very much.

1. Yep, going 1-1 was acceptable, 0-2 disappointing
2. 19-10 month never easy even with a nice schedule
3. 2 teams above us (O's and Stros) have challenging schedules. Det is only 5-20 vs Kc/Cle and has 13 more games against them
4.  On Aug 1 baseball was not fun. On Aug 29 baseball was fun again.  We all hoped at 49-55 or 51-58 that we were dead because of the great 43-27 and 41-23 finishes to 2013/2014.... But it looked pretty bad down 9.5 to the WC2 and another team 9.0 ahead of us

The only thing I'm really upset about is how shitty Alex was this season.

Big deal like 10 royals were all Stars last year, you only have to be good for like a quarter of a season to be a baseball all star, they award it in the middle of the season ffs

if i'm being honest, not all of youngsie's scoreless were completely scoreless.

First month of the season (April 3-May 2) we were 28th in MLB with 3.24 runs

June 2- Aug 5, our starters had a ERA of 5.26 and the bullpen was at 4.60. During this time we were ave 3.49 runs which was 30th in MLB.

Knowing that info, it is truly surprising we are 3 games back of a playoff spot.  We struggled scoring early in the year and we were a bad baseball team for just over 1/3 of the season ( we went 21-36)

Here's how I see it; if the season had continued like the disastrous July, then I would have been extremely disappointed with this season. That month is still going to be what we look back on as the black mark of the last 3 years.

However, I'm encouraged at the way this team fought back in August and 3 games back with a month to go will still make September a fun month to watch baseball. I was hoping for another division title and a locked playoff spot by September, but that's tough to do, especially considering the injuries this team has had this year. IMHO any season the baseball team you follow is in the mix for a playoff spot going into September should be viewed as a successful season no matter what happened in the previous season.

That walk to Victor hurt.  If he could have gotten him, it's just 2-0.

his velocity has been coming down for like 8 games.  and his control waning the last couple as well.  so it was just a matter of time.

2 stolen bases, an error, and we let sucky Sanchez off the hook.  We are missing Cain in that 3 spot the last 2 games
