wackycat08 has the day off so he can sort out the rif raff cause he is also going to the game

would've been nice of WC to mention he was going to the game tomorrow.
Hit a brother up? :dunno:

We have a problem though guys. Last night's crowd was a Chiefs crowd. Barfing, guys wearing clothes that don't fit (oversized) girls wearing clothes that don't fit (too small), passed out dudes in the men's room, yelling "CHIEEEEEFS", parking lot was full of just trash all over the ground, drivers yelling at one another, and just a lot of unpleasant stupids.

I'm hoping that this was a one time thing.

Reminds me of every opening day...i skip going in for the past few years
yup, Opening Day has been a drinking holiday in this town for decades.  If anything I was surprised by the small number of folks that stayed in the parking lot to watch the game at tailgates.

I hadn't been to opening day since maybe 2010, but I thought this year might be different because of the ticket prices, WS, etc.

My expectation would be that it would be different, meaning it would be much worse than usual.

Ring ceremony complete....and it was pretty Sweeeeet!

Saving Gordo for last was nice.

We didn't always like him, but nice that Rios got a very good ovation when he got his ring. Dude had a few key hits in our postseason run.

Good pitching!

chris young pitched well, i'll admit.  i'm afraid everyone else benefited from poor hitting.  not uncommon this time of year, but certainly not pleasing to the true baseball aesthete.

Gordon had some of the worst ABs I've seen from him. Hope it was just a thing that was today but man, woof.

Soria - Got ahead of hitters, looked great.
Herrera - Big big positive. Gives up back to back singles, then gets right out of it. That's good.
Young - Chris Young is going to give up home runs. He just is. 2 runs from him is good, and overall he was in command of the game.
Fuentes - does not look like a major league hitter yet, but its unfair to judge him against Syndegard and Harvey.

Really for the team to do well, the middle of the lineup has to produce, and that didn't happen today. Hosmer and Morales came up with a chance to get a hit and tie the game and didn't. When you have a guy dealing like that, and a bullpen like the Mets, you only get so many chances with runners on and the Royals hitters weren't getting it done today against that slider.

Syndegard owned that team today. Great performance, good luck to the mets the rest of the way!

I stood in right field by the stairs that go up to the rivals party deck and it was the best ppl watching experience of my life! Cf3 is right, it's a crap show out there on opening day events. I saw some drunk guy sprint into a crowd and knocked some guy over and his beer. The security worker who was working the stairs, saw this, and had one of the staff members go buy him a beer on the royals tab. I chatted up the security guy and the cop and started laughing when I heard some of the stuff being called in. My favorite one "Steve, we need customer service down in the front row. Someone threw a piece of pizza from the top deck again and it's landed on a lady's head".
