It took an amazing confluence of circumstances to bring a cartoonist onto the Royals blogbeat. First, as mentioned, the paper has cut enough jobs and payroll to where they're nearly down to the bone. Hiring Andy, even as young as he still is, was a major coup that they probably will never do again. So even as small as the printed paper has become, they have holes to fill. B., Lee is a baseball geek who plays in senior leagues and knows a fair amount of insider baseball stuff, at least as it relates to old men and 70 mph heaters. Lastly, his theories and takes are probably the closest thing to a blog the star does, at least now that andy is gone.
