but they don't actually have to pay them (except for their time during spring training) until opening day.

the white sox non-tendered tyler flowers. he's a better catcher than either butera or cruz. the royals should both of them go and go get flowers. doesn't seem like he'd make that much more than them, but i dunno.

we kept him! thank god. but i understand mlb rules even less now. why in the world did the royals have to non-tender a minor leaguer before signing him to a minor league contract?

they have 38 on the 40 man roster right now, including cruz.
