Ned uses Holland well (after all, how could he possibly eff up a decision to use his closer), and Hochevar pretty well. He mishandles the rest of the 'pen. Always has, always will.

Collins was out seeing his grandfather who is likely on his death bed. Hochevar pitched a lot yesterday. sounds like Ned didn't have much of a choice, i forgive him.

As far as this game goes, Ned's choices were certainly limited now that we know the facts, and he likely did the best he could in an unfortunate situation. That said, I believe my comments above pretty accurately describe his handling of the bullpen over time.

Better range than Frenchy I'd imagine.

sounds like the new right fielder is paying dividends already.  good thing they picked him up.

with chen on the mound, i don't imagine they'll need much "defense".

Sys, you gonna be feeling Chen-sane in the membrane (CHEN-SANE IN THE BRAIN!) by the time this game is over. Go Royals!

Ned obviously wants Billy to get his AB's in the NL park. Can't see him playing any defensive position other than 1B.

Kottaras goes yard. Tied at one all.

Then Chen with a single.  Awesome.

If Kelvin actually pitched with all 3 of his pitches all the time, he would be unhittable.

Why doesn't Holland ever come in during the 8th when we need an out or two? I know we used to do that with Soria. I wouldn't be opposed to doing that with Holland.

You don't throw your closer in a tie game (like dumbasses were calling for last night) or outside of the final inning with the lead except in the playoffs if absolutely necessary or if he needs some game pitches and hasn't seen time in awhile. Whatever dumbassery we used to do with Soria should not be used as a reason to derp this season.
