Who would even want to buy the Royals? I know a lot of people think Cerner would, but they're too busy counting money(and running a successful team) to give a crap.

Cerner has absolutely no interest in getting into non-industry markets.

What industry market is Sporting in?

 :flush:

I'm thinking of Koch. It was mentioned when they came to speak to the careers in finance classes a few years ago and I couldn't remember which one it was.

OnGoal LLC has publicly stated that they would be interested in owning another major sports team in KC and hinted at the Royals. My bet is that they go after a NBA team next...

Should have passed on Georgia Pacific and bought the royals.

First in a all star game for a Royal since Bo Jackson in '89. Write that down!

They absolutely have to fire Ned Yost.

TapiPhone

No they don't. He sucks but he's not the problem

Yes he is.

TapiPhone
Not even close, who's the guy who threw away the future for a season of almost mediocrity?  Who made Jeff Francouer and Chris Getz(Two worst players in the MLB, honestly) regulars on this team?  Who has taken SEVEN YEARS to build a roster yet STILL we are a below average team AT BEST?  Who traded for Wade Davi(e)s and an aging #2 starter and still has managed to fail?  All of these questions have one answer.

I mean, I'm fine with firing Dayton too. But just because Dayton sucks doesnt mean Ned is or could ever be a good managrer. Just because Getz and Francoeur were on the team doesn't mean Ned had to make them regulars for as long as he did... or that Alcides had to bat 2nd every game...

Having a legitimate MLB manager gets this team a few games above .500 for the season, so I'll take that even if I can't have an adequate GM.

TapiPhone
Name games that Ned messed up that would put us at .500.

He pulls starting pitchers that have 1 or 2 hitters (like oscar Chen last week and James Shields on May 6th).

He kept playing Francouer when he had Dyson available and hot.

He kept playing Francouer when Lough was available and hot.

He puts Moose and Escobar too far up in the order.

He doesn't try to play Tejada nearly enough considering our infield bats our terrible

He didn't protect Butler in the batting order for probably 2/5ths of the season.

We see stats like this

Moose 275 at bats with 17 RBIs    One RBI every 16.17 at bats     (.215, .271)

Lough  170 at bats with 16 RBIs    One RBI every 10.625 at bats   (.294, .310)

Dyson  77 at bats with 10 RBIs      One RBI every 7.7  at bats       (.247, .310)

Tejada  97 at bats with 12 RBIs     One RBI every 8.083 at bats     (.278, .307)

Francouer  183 at bats 13 RBIs     One  RBI every 14.07 at bats     (.208, .249)

Take away 100 of moose's at bats and give them to Lough and you will have 4 more RBI's  + another 4 opportunities for someone to drive Lough in.  You can do this by playing Gordon at third some of the time and Tejada some of the time.

Take away 100 of Francouers at bats and give them Dyson and you should have 5 more runs + another 3 opportunities for someone to drive  Dyson in.

My conclusion is that the Royals could have easily scored 9 more runs this year if 200 at bats had been taken away from Francouer and Moose and given to certain players (Lough, Tejada, Dyson).  It also easily could have been another 4 runs with an additional 100 at bats taken away. Lough was a surprise but Dyson wasn't and we easily should have benched Frenchy in May and sent Moose down in May as well.

There are reasons Yost got fired from a playoff team.

So basically it's the type of coaching staff that would need 20 Hall of Famers just go .500, right?

Hahahaha you don't think Frenchy, a Moore signing, and Getz, another Moore signing were Ned's decision to make, do you?  If you think Ned is the problem, you are mistaken.  Ned doesn't make personnel decisions, he is a terrible manager, I don't disagree, but a crap team is a crap team no matter how you dress it up.
