Herrera is awful.

& yet the Royals demoted Louis Coleman (pitched 4 scoreless appearances for the Royals this season & has pitched well in AAA) in favor of Herrera. That is why the Royals are never going to win because they make stupid moves with players they have. They are worried to send someone down because they are out of minor league options & they would have to clear through waviers.

BUT HERRERA HAS GREAT STUFF!!!!!

Another reason why the Royals are never going to win is a quote like this:

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130623&content_id=51531912&notebook_id=51539564&vkey=notebook_kc&c_id=kc

Quote
"Getzy didn't get sent down because of poor performance," manager Ned Yost said. "He was hitting .214, but you go back and look at a lot of those games we won and Getz was right in the middle of it in some way, some form, some shape. And that's what you want -- you want your players to go out and just do something today to help us win."

So what will they do with bases loaded and no outs?

So far struck out twice & no runs.

edit: Got a run via a walk & got lucky because Ramirez booted a ball at ss. Royals take the lead without a hit with the bases loaded & no outs.

Nice win but it kinda adds more fuel to the crowded outfield argument. (And don't you rough ridin' dare start taking about Gordon playing third. Don't even think about.    :shakesfist: )

So, the Royals claim this pitcher from the Cards? I'm looking at his numbers in the article...what are they thinking this time???

I may just be a K-State fan who yells "Touchdown!" at baseball games, but I do seem to recall hearing somewhere in sports that if you want to win you always put the best players you have available on the field.  Whenever I see Moustakas out there with his glove on at 3rd I am reminded that this team is led by a pack of losers led by an absentee owner and I sigh and think to myself that any success they ever stumble upon is fleeting and not truly earned.

So yeah, when I see these turdfaces flinging barbeque sauce on each other because a fielding error by the Sox helped them avoid getting swept at home by the worst team in the division, it hurts me inside.  I can actually feel my soul turning ever so slightly blacker.

If you bat only once in your life in the majors and manage a hit you get to brag to your friends for the rest of your life about your epic 1.000 major league batting average.

Shields has been really rough ridin' good dude. And we seem to have too many outfielders at the moment so in not sure what you're melting down over.

shields is wasting a year on a below .500 team and will be traded at the as break next year on another below .500 team. dayton traded the best hitting kc prospect since beltran for a year and a half of james shields getting no run support on a below .500 team. he sacrificed 6 years of the best kc prospect in a decade for an unrealistic bid at getting to .500 for 1 year, which he knew dumbasses like you would lap up and thus - save his incompetent neck for at least one more year. and let me get this straight....TOO MANY OUTFIELDERS??

you freaking idiot.

Herrera sent back down, Will Smith recalled. Smith was recently moved to a relief role and has been doing well.
