I think both were getting mini auditions this week. Yes, Young allowed 8 base runners, and 6 stolen bases, but only gave up the 1 run.

We will see how Guts does tomorrow, but I would say he is more likely to stay than Young for right now

Hopefully Medlen works his way into the conversation, but for now it's Young or Guts. I like Guts better as well FWIW.

Last 8 starts for Young....
1) his ERA is 5.09
2) WHIP is 1.38, 40 hits in 40.2 (his batting ave allowed was great b4 this stretch)
3) 10 HRs allowed in those 40.2

Putting him in the Pen for now probably is smart. He is battling his control which is tied to him having a tired arm

Guts has allowed 35 base runners and 11 ER in last 18.0 Inn (3 starts). If he keeps trending to this, Medlen will need to be considered if he looks good out of the Pen.

Dyson is 4 for his last 29. His walk was basically useless since he didn't steal. I Just don't get it. He tries to steal 3rd with 2 outs a few times (not a ton gained from him being at 3rd rather than 2nd with 2 outs). 1st and 3rd is so ideal to steal. Catcher might not even throw, even if does, Dyson is great at stealing
