He's the ultimate utility player. Our biggest holes right now are 2nd base and potentially the corners in outfield on some nights. he can play all those positions.

He has been a 5+ WAR player the last 4 years. The Royals have had 3 5+ WAR seasons the last 4 years (all Gordon), with only Cain set to pass that this year. His defense this year is the only question I have, but it has been great historically. This is a huge move.
