At this point, I'm fine with Infante. At least he's a fundamentally sound defensive player

Omar Infante hit his 5th home run of the season on June 27 last year  :frown:

let's keep the focus on rios, mocat.

Did our guy Paulo do more in yesterday's doubleheader than Rios has done the entire time our guy was in Omaha?

he has made some Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)/lazy throws this year. i think the royals have better defenders that could play second than omar. maybe thats just me

his arm is jacked because of injuries. that's different than someone like Rios who can't judge a fly ball

i can only remember two stupid throws.  his arm hurts, so he usually throws as softly as he has time to do so.  when he needs to move it faster, he seems to be able to.  i think he's a little better than average.  definitely better than anyone else the royals have (ruling out moving escobar).

My deal with Rios is he is supposed to be a solid hitter with some power. He does neither. I'm not going to complain too much because almost all other off season moves were great.

the one dumb play infante made was like 3 months ago (i think vs detroit) when he tried to flip a ball upside down and behind him from inside his glove and it went over hosmer's head. and it was hilarious and we ended up winning iirc

Omar has been solid lately at the plate to go with his D. I'm good.

that's no reason not to complain.  just because they made a mistake in the offseason is no reason to keep playing him.

I agree with that. I'm just saying overall Dayton had a good offseason, but Rios is terrible.

He's like the highest paid player on the roster. It's hard to sit your investment.

the thing with rios - there's no possible justification for playing him everyday.  if the claim is that he's crap because his hand is still mumped, then send him to aaa until he's capable of playing well.  if you concede he's healthy but claim he needs time to regain his swing or whatever (he's had like a month now, but whatever), then the same thing, let flounder in aaa until he proves he doesn't suck.  if the idea is just that they spent too much money on him not to keep him in kc, first off, that's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!), and but even if you insist on being Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) (and unjust with orlando), then you still need to platoon him with dyson, because dyson is better at everything except maybe hitting and dyson hits right-handers ok (this year, better than ok).

that's why he's gotten such a long term chance to play, but he sucks. And I was super happy for Paulo yesterday, but I don't think he's the answer

yeah, he did great.  they just need to admit the one signing that didn't work and fix it.  the great thing is they have a pretty viable alternative already on the team, they don't even have to make a trade to improve.
