guys, i really don't want to give up what it would probably take to get cueto. I get the win now idea, and that we were in Game 7 of the WS, but we would have to give up probably the top 3 prospects we have, and its not like we have a ton of studs in the minors right now.

We signed all these borderline MLB starters in the offseason for a reason, specifically so we wouldn't need to go get a starter in the middle of the season. Getting a rental is no more guaranteed to succeed than the prospects in your system. I wouldn't mind getting a guy if the right deal came along, but signing rent-a-starters usually requires you to place yourself over a barrel. Not ideal.

if ventura, duffy and vargas keep going on and off the DL and aren't available in the postseason, we won't win the WS.
