with all the off days lately and volkie throwing a complete game last night, i don't care if he only goes four.  as long as he doesn't give up more runs.

especially last night.  the whole world knew it was going to rain about a foot and a half.  let the dumbass cardinal fans waste their time on that crap.

He missed on 9 of his first 12 fastballs.  Don't like a 30 pitch inning but 6 Innings is really the max we need him to go today

The check swing single was a bad break, but poor baserunning by Peralta gave us an out back.  Even if the check swing was a DP ball, it was gonna be a 1-0 game.

weird how some starters seem to have so many problems with the first, while relievers are expected to come in and perform well from the start.

we have leadoff batter on in 3 of the first 4 innings, but Wacha showing what a good pitcher he is.   

Ventura set down 14 in a row.  Last 4 innings he has had 33 of his 46 pitches go for strikes.

He is still early on in his 1st month back after TJ surgery, and he will get better,  but Hoch right now cant be counted on if we are in a tight game.   HDH and Madson clearly our 4 most trustworthy Bullpen guys right now. Last 20 guys to come to the plate vs Hoch -- 10 hits and 1 BB allowed (4 ERs)

Frasor also seems to labor through each of his outings, but battles out of most of them.   He allowed 19 guys to reach base last 9 Innings but only allowed 1 of them to score ( but he has allowed 3 inherited runs to score)


Good news is Det lost 10-8 and our lead is still 3 games

For sure.  And did it impressively.  Good guys owned the scoreboard 38-15 in those 8 games. About 280K came through the gates
