I was listening to kietzman after the game before Ned post game. he is so great. he was talking about our fast 30 year old brazillian guy and was like, "there's a lot of brazillians in the game" and the other guy was like, "he was the third brazillian to ever start an MLB game" and then kietz was talking about how he thought the royals were going to run away with the central and get like a 20 game cushion or something absurd. was very good radio.

Everyone - I'm excited to watch the game this evening.

Me too AJ.  Many times last year during these late west coast games I would yell really loud when something good happened and wake Mrs. WNK.  She was OK with it because that meant the Royals were winning.  I can't wait to do it again!

Anybody going to try Craft and Draft this season? Looks interesting, $45-75, but that includes $20 voucher.

Checked it out yesterday. I didn't realize you could reserve seats in that area, it looked legit. Beers are expensive but the view is great. Cool area, would recommend.

So do they have some open seats that you can sit at if open, otherwise reserved tickets in that section?

yep, I'd guess there were ~30 seats that anyone could sit in. There a lot of people just standing around watching the game too.

I'm very interested to see how Vargas does in his debut, I was pretty concerned in Arizona.

A few early thoughts, with the caveat that we remember we have 98.15% of the season remaining
1. Early on, the team looks like it has plate discipline (in comparison to a normal royals team). I liked all of Salvy's ABs yesterday. Moose and Hos have both swung at some bad pitches, but this seems like it could be a turning point organizationally in terms of walks and plate discipline.
2. Really, Edison should've given up at least 2 doubles that Cain tracked down. Cain and the outfield D are absolutely wonderful for Vargas/Guthrie/Volquez level pitchers. It is great to watch. I didn't think Orlando took good routes to the ball, but his speed can make up for that. Defensively he's going to be fine IMO. I like him.
3. I hate the save stat. The White Sox weren't going to score in the 9th. It was cold, windy, we had a 3 run lead, and the Sox just wanted to get out of town. Yet because its within 3, here comes Holland. Overuse with our hard throwers scares me (Holland seems bound for TJ surgery some day, a short guy throwing hard....) and Frasor would've been fine there. I wish managers wouldn't default to closer/save thinking. Now Holland has gone back to back days, when he could've been more fresh for the Angels. I mean, the way that game was going I would've been fine with Ricky Bottalico out there in the 9th.
4. Infante looks hurt. His throws are awful.
5. Tigers look scary. Like 97+ win scary. Pray for injuries to the old grandpas on that dogcrap team.
6. In 2013 we had Getz/Frenchy to start the year and the weird terrible starter version of Wade Davis in the rotation. Last year we had Chen in the rotation to start the year, and Moose/Billy/Hos all had about the worst starts in April and May you can imagine. Why shouldn't we expect to be better this year? This team IS better. There is no "oh crap, Hochevar is starting tonight, and Getz is batting 2nd" lurking around the corner. We should expect to be there in October. Crazy things can happen, teams fall apart, but I am pretty damn pumped.

LFG.

I want to see Gordon have a good AB this inning. Don't care if he gets a hit even, just some good swings.

The Royals are hitting homers.  Is Dayton Moore actually a genius?
