I'd really like Moose to be productive offensively for the entire baseball season. Would be really nice.

Agreed.  Can you imagine how fun our lineup would be to watch with Moose and Hoz putting it together for a whole season?  I can't, cause my mind will explode.

Would you guys say that you have just learned to accept how Detroit's ass smells or have you learned to love it?

We have more world series game wins since 1984 than you. Royals 7, Tigers 1. Anything prior to that I don't care about because I wasn't born. The Royals did more in 3 weeks than the Tigers have in your life dork.

"Lorenzo Cain has signed a one-year $2.75 million contract, avoiding arbitration, reports Jeffrey Flanagan. Cain had asked for $3.6 million in his first year of salary arbitration with the Royals countering with $2 million. The 28-year old had a career season in 2014, hitting .301/.339/.412 with 5 HR 53 RBI. It was the first time the oft-injured outfielder had ever played more than 120 games in a season. Cain was also named ALCS MVP after hitting .533 against the Orioles. Cain split time between centerfield and rightfield, likely costing him a Gold Glove as he was widely praised for his defense and finished sixth in all of baseball in dWAR.

Cain can earn a $25,000 bonus for reaching 505 plate appearances, a plateau he has never reached, and he can earn $50,000 for making his first All-Star team.

The Royals now have 21 players under contract, set to earn $92 million. They still have four salary arbitration cases left with Danny Duffy, Eric Hosmer, Greg Holland, and Kelvin Herrera."

Also, now that all these arbitration guys are getting signed, I'm officially putting an end to the "Glass family is cheap" talking point on this thread. They are not cheap. They used to be, until say, 2008-ish or so, but they aren't anymore.

Go Royals.

No "surprise" here. This guy did a lot of good in the clubhouse and on the field but, as we all knew, he is gone for the money.

Agreed. The pitchers we've signed and traded for prove this. Also, Shields' $ demands don't fit the KC payroll, which takes into account current and future arbitration cases, and players headed to free agency in the near future. Dayton is on record saying they're holding back $ for those situations. Big Game James is not in the Royals' plans.

he's worth the money it looks like he's going to get though.  they probably should have just kept aoki, shields and butler.

I don't think Aoki wanted to come back.

I know. Billy's one year option would've been fine.

If they had picked up that option in November we would have been furious (for a week or so)

I wouldn't have been furious. It was a one year for 12 million. I would've wondered aloud if we could've done better though. I'm not convinced we did.
