This crowd is a big factor tonight.  Angels fans were hot garbage.

Crowd is not a factor at all unless Big Game James is so mentally weak he can't pitch when people are cheering. Crowd didn't make that bloop fall, or have Escobar's throw hit the runner

Listen, I'd love to have James on the team next year. I just think 5 for 80 is too much for us.

no one is arguing that part of your post. im talking about the "shields is our 3rd best starter..."

Why warm up Finnegan if James is just going to blow the game against a lefty? James was getting rocked from the start, and Ned over corrected his mistake in the WC game

i completely agree with what you're saying, but i don't think yost overcorrected.  he's always let the starters stay out longer than is prudent and shields gets more rope than anyone.

This a wonky strike zone.

lbbiq bro here (tobias).  it's on the runner to stay on the bag regardless of if they get pushed off it, right?

if the ump didn't have a giant strike zone, shields would have given up about 40 runs before he left.

in one of the detroit games, the oriole defender held the runner away from the bag with one hand while he picked up the ball that he dropped with the other hand and then tagged him out.

i think it's actually illegal, but i'm not super sure.  doesn't seem to matter if it's not called.  weird sport.
