Who calls the game off for the rain delay? Mlb or the host? I wanna know how mumped we are.

It's the umpires' call.
So the mlb/new York. Gotcha!

The crew actually working the game makes the call. Crew chief, to be specific.

Royals win 1-0 in the Bronx for the first time EVER. Do you know how many "evers" are left in baseball, guys? NOT A LOT

To me, Shields bookend starts on this roadtrip will define his time as a Royal. We need to win those 2 games, and then 1 more against Detroit.

He reads GE

The Royals are now 17 games over .500 for the first time since the end of the 1989 season.

The last time a Royal starter pitched that well in a game this big, George Brett lifted him off the mound after the final out.

just looked at detroit radar.  god is rough ridin' the rawls tonight, boys.  umps would have to be heros to get this one on the books.

I was pretty darn nervous too, CF3. I couldn't get strikeout to work on the computers at work and I couldn't pick the game up on the radio because of stupid high school football. Following on the gametracker had me v. v.  :ohno:

Damn. That said, the only "good" thing about a no-game there tonight would be it forces a doubleheader tomorrow or Sunday, I would think. This weekend is the last the NL Giants see the AL Tigers this season. That will screw up Detroit's already screwed-up pitching.

Couldn't they resume the suspended game tomorrow before the next game? I can't imagine how upset the Giants would be if they had to start over. They're in a pennant race too, this is a big game for a bunch of teams.

they play tomorrow at 1pm so i can't see them keeping them there until two in the morning tonight trying to get this thing in. then they play sunday at 8pm. both days set up perfect for a double header.
