I told someone 91 wins a week or so ago. I think that sounds about right.

i saw a stat on the royals (kc) game the other night that said something like aoki and escobar were both hitting over .500 with risp over the last month. that can't keep up and when it doesn't i'm scared our offense is going to go away.  :frown:

the duff drinks grape juice and lemonade. but he's still the life of the party anyway.

i have us getting to 92. but i think it's key to at least go 3-3 with detroit. i don't want to give up any ground head-to-head.

1-srsly, don't worry about Seattle

you're placing too much emphasis on their schedule.  they're the best team, that counts for something.

and their tough schedule has 14 games of oakland and angels as the toughest games.  oakland isn't beating anyone right now and the angels just lost their best starter.  those games may not be as difficult as they seem on paper

why is Seattle the best team? i think they're better than their record and they are absurdly good at not letting people score, but their offense is worse than the Royals'

well, they're way better than kc and detroit on runs scored v runs given up, so that's the factual basis for calling them the best team.

emotionally, it's because their pitching is ridiculous.  i guess pitching scares me more than hitting.

they have the lowest ERA, lowest WHIP, and fewest runs allowed per game in the MLB. that's like the triple crown of team pitching/defense

btw, i think the royals will hit a bad stretch that will induce panic.  5-6 game losing streak.  such a streaky team, i don't see why they'd suddenly decide to be slow and steady now.  then right the ship and finish with 88 or 89.  will be enough because detroit sucks.

how is anyone going to beat them if they don't score any runs?  riddle me that, mocat.

I never think about the number of wins. it's, like, we are already in first place. we just have to win a game for everytime detroit wins a game. pud city.

it's a mystery that we'll likely never fully understand.

we can even win one fewer game and still be in first. and detroit sucks.

if kc sweeps the remaining games with detroit, they can lose a crap ton of other games and still win the division.  pretty pud.
