What's the most wins a team has ever won? Like, 93?

1906 - Chicago Cubs - 116 wins

EDIT:  2001 - Seattle Mariners - 116 wins

big train, you should have mentioned that you were a pitcher so we could force you to tell us secret-type stuff about throwing baseballs.

for example, why is it so much easier to be a good reliever than a good starter?

am i wrong to be concerned that we are going to the well more than we need to w/ our relievers lately. like, it's a three run lead in the 8th. do we really need to go davis, holland? what if tomorrow is tied or a one run lead? seems like we could've done something else tonight. dunno.

-less pitches per outing so you can go max effort on every pitch
-you don't have to go through the lineup a second time so hitters don't get to see a lot of your pitches.

It's only an inning so I'm not too worried.  If we get a run this inning Holland won't come out.

another one, apropos of the ninth inning.  why is holland good?  he has like one pitch, right?  the slider that bounces in front of the plate but apparently hitters seem to think is about 18 inches higher than that.  why don't all the hitters just not swing at anything that looks like it will be a strike and then just walk to the win?

yeah the whole save vs no save thing. that's so stupid though. christ. save holland. up three. six, seven and eight hitters coming up. plus, he's pitched something like 9 out of the last 16 days.

I thought everyone knew I was a pitcher  :dunno:

Not the clearest head right now :drink: but pitching in General is not easy. Some guys make it look super easy but it's not and starting and closing/relief are 2 completely different frames of mind.

That double is the second extra-base hit Wade Davis has allowed this season.

It's not broken, just a bit shaky.  I'm still ok with Holland closing.  Until Holland starts blowing saves we should not change it.
