panj whoever you quoted was not exaggerating about his hitting vs lefties. what a hilarious split line:

vs Left: 98 AB, .306/.403/.429, 3 HR, 19 RBI, 17 walks, 23 SO, 30 hits
vs Right: 90 AB, .156/.243/.267, 2 HR, 11 RBI, 7 walks, 39 SO, 14 hits

Lets dig in to trade talks, but one last thing from yesterday. Anyone else really pleased with how Ned lined up the pitchers? I mean, if Alcides gets the pop up, its 1 run for Chen. Then he goes and brings in Yordano followed by Davis/Holland and we all party. I dump on Ned a lot but I liked the way he used Yordano in that game. It was a HUGE game and Ned did the right thing.

Salvy batting 9th. I swear I'll burn it down if he doesn't get an AB

Unless the AL lineup gets shut down, I bet he gets 2 ABs. Only 2 catchers on the bench and I'd assume they'll keep one on the bench for extras just in case. Salvy probably gets 5 innings.

Also, if you don't want to hear a 4 hour tribute to Derek Jeter, I'd suggest just getting a redbox or something tomorrow.

I think the gift baskets and town car rides are a pretty good indictment of the type of person that he is.

I think we're pretty naive to think a lot of athletes don't do this. At least he's not out cheating on his wife, like Tiger. He had a great career and I thought he was a lot of fun to follow.  :dunno:

I wasn't making a comparison. There are many people like that in this world. He's also wears pinstripes. That's enough of a reason not to like him.

I don't hate him. I don't know him. He plays for the Yankees, so I don't like him. Also, I think the stories that came out about his one night stands are extremely douchey. Does that clarify my position better?

Yes! However, I still wish I got a gift basket after a one night stand. That would make me feel a lot better about the next day.  :D

It's not that I necessarily hate Derek Jeter.  I just don't feel that I owe him anything.  He never played for my team, so why are we supposed to give him gifts and standing ovations? No, I owe him nothing.

wait, wait, wait. so him being a career woman-respecter and the fact that he was drafted by and played his entire career for the yankees is reason to hate the guy? oh ok. he's going to be #6 on the all time hit list and he's going to have a career batting average of over .310, over the course of like 18 years. i respect his consistency. also he is pretty outspoken about not driving after a single drop of alcohol, also pretty outspoken about his respect for just about every opposing teams' fanbases. idk, weird guy to hate.

But those stripes and gift baskets.  :curse:
