i will go if invited with a group of friends for a fun outing/tailgate. but i'm not going out of my way to spend 30 bucks and go see a weeknight game. at some point there has to be a competitive element, something i've never experienced with the royals, except for maybe 17-11 last year where i went to like 8 games before june.

I hope Glass waits until after the draft. Remember the Baird/Moore transition? Fired Baird right before the draft, Moore didn't/couldn't really involve himself in the Royals draft. Result - Luke Hochevar Round 1, 1st overall.

Let the scouts and moore go through the draft without any complication, then can his incompetent ass the very next day.

Most of his other first round picks haven't really been any better than Hoch.

aside from colon, they all have been at least moderately better. hoch wasn't the consensus guy to take there.

Talking results, haven't they all been worse? I guess Crow is comparable.

Best farm system in the majors :blah:

You know, there is a pretty real perception out there that this is the case. Everyone we call up sucks ass, though. Maybe the Royals could start trading these prospects for studs with one year left on their contracts to make a playoff push this year. Then they could burn it down and start over, Marlins style.

Grifol gone

I haven't looked into it yet to confirm, but a co-worker told me that Grifol is moving to coach the catchers, 3B coach Dale Sveum to Hitting Coach, Bench Coach Don Wakamatsu to 3B Coach.

Is this true? If so...

Well, Ned likes shuffling the lineup. Might as well give the coaches a try, too.

I'll gladly eat crow if this miraculously works out, but this can't be the answer...right?

Firing Grifol isn't the answer, either. Nothing will change until Moore is gone.

Hypothetically, if you could fire Ned or Moore but had to keep the other, what do you do?

I enjoy reading the comments under the articles on Royals Review...........

So Seizter is the hitting guru at Toronto, the team that is tearing up the leauge, the Seizter that used to be our hitting coach, but was not good enough, used to be "our" all star, so we canned him......right?

I hope Toronto beats us by frickin 30 every game, and then Seizter goes up to our suite and grabs Dayton Moore and throws his ass out his suite window.........

GM problem now solved......
Awaiting the inevitable KITN

"It was just time to do something. We needed to do something. We couldn't keep going the way we were going," manager Ned Yost said.

Sorry, Ned, this game of musical chairs isn't going to cure the ills.

(Also, Jirschele, not Don, going to the 3B box).

Seitzer loves KC, would come back once we clean house and if we gave a good contract.

I remember the Royals saying one of the reasons they canned Seitzer was that they weren't hitting enough home runs.

Yost was the reason, he wanted a hitting coach that preached pulling the ball to try & hit home runs & Seitzer is more of a go with the pitch & hit it up the middle type of hitting coach. Seitzer said that the Royals would struggle offensively if they would go with a hitting coach that preached being a dead-pull hitter & Seitzer was right.
