Austin is a great city and is lots of fun.  I have had fun in norman too.  Lawrence is a crap hole, it has it's nice spots but is way to spread out to be considered a good Big XII city.  Mass Street is an awful place to party, that is if you plan on going enjoying more than one bar.  

I can only imagine Waco and Lubbock being the worst cities in the Big Twelve, followed closely by Ames.

Having been to all the Big 12 college towns except Lubbock, I would have to go with Waco.

Before KU won as a Big Eight team in 1988, the last titles belonged to Kansas in 1952 and Oklahoma State, twice in the 1940s when, I believe, they were playing three-on-three at each end, no crossing midcourt. As for Allen Fieldhouse, it's like a museum, maybe one that is haunted. I always think a famous dead guy is going reach out and shake my hand."
