I remember back when I was a kid, almost all football teams would wear white shoes.  Then a few would wear black shoes, and everyone would say it looked like the team in black shoes was always slower even if they really weren't.

This is just like that, except the opposite.  JMHO.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Sprads moved the ball pretty well, I thought.

I thought he was able to stay in front of his man on D very well most of the night but it is hard to judge relative speed when the guy on offense plays for newman.  I think you are right and he is quick enough to play for us this year but it will be interesting to see how his speed/quickness translates against quality opponents.

Look.  I hear what you are saying, you just aren't watching his feet.  I'm not even saying he is "slow" just completely gassed in the 2nd half against a crappy, slow team.  He should have been blowing by them in the second half when their legs were gone, but his legs were gone.  He got picked a couple times and he was much slower on D (see that hilarious rec reach from behind that he actually pulled on those idiots from Newman).

He played really solid D in the first half, but he is Clent Stewart pace not Pullen pace, I won't even mention the pace he is replacing.

spradling and asprilla were by far the two most appealing items on the newman exhib. game cart.

I can see this argument.  I CAN SEE IT!  But Southwell's upside right now looks delic.

I would go Asprilla....................Southwell...Sprads.

upside meaning that in two years he might have a d1 body, and might be able to get off a shot in traffic?  salt that [redacted] up then, that's delicious.

Spradling looked like the best freshman out there. Not the most upside, but the most ready to play right now.

Agreed, don't get the "looked slow" remark

Anyone seriously trying to take anything out of this game, is probably better off re-watching the "midnight madness" scrimmage

Did you watch him on defense...he was blown by a lot.

He seemed really aggressive all up in their faces and what not(HBIQ term.) If he could ease off a bit and wait for the opportunity, he might be better off. My .02.

Of course your original statement was deleted, but got picked up here

P.S.
you were the one that bolded Sugar Dick's comment, not Sugar Dick
