Imo after GAME 1, jake needs to up his scoring average to 22-25ppg. Our remaining guards don't seem as offensively aggressive as jake. Therefore, jake picks up the slack.

We have serious problems at guard.  There's no getting around it.  Loss of Clemente is HUGE.   

Can't see how we can be a top 10 team without at least one more guard stepping up - way up.  The matchups against MU and KU will be brutal.

Our backcourt is clearly our weakness.  Our front court (with Samuels) is arguably one of the best in the country.  

If teams want to play us straight up, we know where the ball's going.  If, as I suspect, they throw a zone at us, we'll see how many 3s Jake, Rod, and Nick can knock down and how many 15 fters Curt and Wally can hit from the elbow and short corner.



Let's not lose sight of the fact that this was an exhibition game, for god's sake.  Yeah, we looked like crap at times.  But, we've got a long season.  I'd argue KSU has never had a greater collection of all around talent on one roster.  And our coach is decent.

May be selective memory here, but it appears we're further along at this point than we've been in previous years. Of course, we should be with Pullz, Curtis, Wally, and the other returners out there.

Asprilla showed some assertiveness/quick moves under the hoop.  Nice to see that...need some Bill Walker on this team.  Got a little tired over last couple of years of seeing our big guys get the ball stripped low inside while their arms go flailing up for the layup/dunk.

We may not have Clemente this year, but we have a lot of guys who will get up and down the court, which should still help fast break opportunities...especially with our apparent depth.  We won't have the Clemente one-man break, but we should be able to get some 3/4 on 2 breaks against teams for (hopefully) easy buckets.
