LaKeith Humphrey

I don't know if any of you remember this guy.  But he played in the backcourt with Steve Henson, I believe in 89 and left after 1 year.  Appears he is doing well.

I always suspected that he was a gang banger.  I remember hearing about Crips in Manhattan about that time.  I bet he was one.

Incredibly big noggin if I remember the guy correctly?
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

He sank a 3 pointer with about 1-2 seconds left to send the ku game to OT in 1989.

Of course, we went on to lose.

Kind of the same as his current situation, no?

Love the comment from mom.

I hope that if I ever pump 5 rounds into someones house my mom says something like that . . . "oh, hey, he didn't really mean it".

jfc, it was an accident.  pathetic that you're trying to accuse his mother of lying.

Does anyone know why LaKeith left after only one season?

I was at K-State at the time (yes I know,I'm old) and the rumor was a run-in with the law.  Most likely scenario was sexual assault, but I don't remember hearing anything official. (If true, K-State was much better at cover-ups in the past)

I remember LaKeith as being really creepy.  He had an infatuation with the sister of one of my friends and always followed her around at the bars. The odd thing was that she was not hot at all and I was embarrassed that our basketball players weren't chasing better tail.

He did have a really big head. Like down's syndrome big.
