I would only recommend high top shoes for older people (people over 25). Ankle support is always important, but the older you get, the longer it takes for sprains to heal.

Review: the 12.5 was a little big, but my previous Nikes were 12's and destroyed one of my big toenails constantly. Was pretty disgusting. They kind of make me feel like I am playing in the best uniforms in basketball history, the Kansas State greys.

well, of less importance, they didn't hurt my feet right out of the box. Very comfortable even though they're a little big.
