I'd be happy with that.  Is he only coming for 1 year, like every other juco Frank has recruited?

Two years! Also, the charges were dropped on that former Washington State player who might transfer here. I think we are just waiting on his decision now (between us & OSU).

If Jones comes, does that mean Nick or Myles is gonzo?

Was wondering what the bbs focus would be once Miami hired a non-frank coach.

Myles. I don't even give a eff if we cause him to lose a year of eligibility.

I would prefer Canada over Nick, fwiw.

Nick doesn't have his speed or handles.  I think Myles could be a better all around contributor, in an Energy-like way, than Nick.  Nick is good for 20pts in 4 or 5 games, but he is also good for giving up 20pts to whoever is lucky enough to have him as a defender.  The latter is going to happen more often than the former.

doesn't make clear if he has an offer.  maybe preferable to jones.  i would not prefer over mcgruder, russell, myles or irving.

Quote
Recently, University of New Orleans’ Freshman KC Ross-Miller spoke to me about leaving the University in order to attend another school, ” I am about to transfer colleges.” Right now, he does not know what college he will ultimately end up at, but Ross-Miller has a list of top contenders that he will evaluate during his transferring process. “I haven’t decided yet but my schools are Purdue, Louisville, UNT, Detroit, Kansas State.” His stay at the University of New Orleans was more of an insurance policy rather than an act of permanence ” I went to UNO because they have a rule where I could go there for one semester and then be eligible to play anywhere without having to sit out, except in the SEC.” Now that the semester is over, Ross-Miller can now focus on looking for the best fitting program, ” I’m looking for a program where I can come and start, have a good coach, and good academics. I’m looking for the best school that needs me the most.” Hopefully this young man will be able to find the school of his dreams!

Why preferable to Jones?  We need a scorer if anything imo?   :dunno:

Louisville Courier-Journal writer thinks it's unlikely Louisville makes room for Ross-Miller:
http://blogs.courier-journal.com/jodydemling/2011/04/22/a-few-friday-nuggets-5/

Purdue already has a full class for 2011. And 2012. And 2013. Not likely to find a scholarship there, either.
http://indiana.sbnation.com/purdue-boilermakers/2011/4/23/2129324/purdue-basketball-purdue-closes-out-2013-class-with-69-power-forward

Detroit already brought in Nolan Dennis, not sure if they have any available ships left this year.

I can't see him being a better option for you guys than Angel Rodriguez.

We already have 2 high school PGs signed in this year's class and a JUCO combo that primarily plays point. And he wound up passing on us for LSU last year. Never thought I'd say this about a national Top 150 who was Kentucky and LSU bound in the past... But I'm not shedding any tears if he doesn't land at North Texas. Ross-Miller can play, and the kid himself doesn't seem to be a problem... But there's a lot of baggage there. Just my very underinformed opinion based on what I've read and heard the past 2-3 years.

Obviously Sys's opinion carries much more weight than mine but I've seen Jones play and I was less than impressed.  Considering he was playing against juco, I don't think he's any better than abyone we have right now.  Plus-our guys at least have an idea of what Franks wants.  Qlck:

Yeah, I'm not debating whether he's better than people in the system already, but just asking for why he's better than Jones.  I've heard mixed reviews/ befuddled by the unc offer/we could use some points next year.

Why preferable to Jones?  We need a scorer if anything imo?   :dunno:

same reason at jt's.  i haven't seen him, but i've seen a fair number of reports from people that have.  and basically none of them say that he's very good.  given that they're all kstate fans, and likely desire him to be decent, that's uninspiring.

good point about his style being a decent fit.  i can see the appeal of having another guy with range on the court along with spradler and mcgruder, assuming they're both back.

the other thing is that i just hate jones because recruiting him is so rough ridin' stupid.  there's no possible way that getting him is a good thing.  every single semi-realistic possibility that leads to an open 'ship for him is a killjoy.  like, if it's mcgruder that sucks because mcgruder's good & is due to get great minutes & for him to want to leave prolly means the whole staff other than figger are constant dicks.  or if it's russell, then it's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) because you're kicking out a guy with the exact same skillset as the guy you're bringing in, except the guy you're kicking out is better and has more upside and is from arlington grace prep that produces multiple d1 players each year.  or if it's myles, then the staff are a bunch of giant assholes because they recruited a guy with no real chance of making an impact and then kicked him out a year later knowing it would cost him a year of eligibility.  etc, etc.  it's all just so rough ridin' stupid and depressing.
