Massa Self does it again
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:06:51 PM »
His unbelievable ability at taking lottery talents and turning them into 4-year players strikes again!

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=172&f=2481&t=5572606

What cracks me up is all their fans assume the guy is going to be around another season or 3 and think nothing of it ... and they're of course right because Self ruins careers.

Judge>Henry

Who is a worse parent, Carl Henry or Toni Mitchell's mom?

I'd say Carl Henry because look at what Cal is letting Wall do.  He has basically turned him into the #1 overall pick.

You've got to be kidding me.  Did you see the improvement of Kaun or Jackson from their freshman to senior years?  Hell, just look at the improvement of Marcus Morris from his freshman to sophomore year.

You could also take the improvement of Aldrich from his freshman year to sophomore/junior year as an example.  This is exactly what I was talking about though when I said that Kietzman's message applies to a lot of posters on this board as well.  The idea that Bill Self and his staff don't develop players is as delusional as it gets.

coaches help w/ development.  but if you don't get better from just playing in games from year to year then you're not going anywhere anyway.

Schyler Thomas was incredible when he was a senior compared to when he was a freshman.  only great assistants like Chuckie Baker can make stuff like that happen.

I think the word around the NBA is that Cole is the white Emeka Okafor, probably not even worth the 6 spots lower.  Going to be brutal watching a Scalabrine with no offensive game.

When recruiting these players, KU fans clamor about the fact that they are bluechip NBA can't-miss players.  Yet, by the time they are done at KU, none of them do sh*t at the next level.  What gives?

Xavier USED to be a sure top 10 if not top 5 pick. Not anymore after a year of ball under Selfs' team.

Sasha is making millions in Russia, and Darnell is playing for the Cavaliers.  Pat yourselves on the back though for having no ability to put your bias aside and be objective.

Going from a zero to average is much easier than going from above average to hero.

Question remains:  has Seff ever developed any TALENT?

BMW, your arguments are weak like the ukraine.  tons of players are making millions of dollars who had terrible coaches.  why do Kaun and Jackson (who were both elite recruits) not play professionally if they don't go to KU.  what happens to them if they go to Oklahoma St or South Florida that prevents them from playing for money?
