We should spend it all on getting really good players.

Or a really kickass tarp.

K-STATEO tarp

is expanding the  bill's capacity something that would be seriously considered?

We should spend it all on getting really good players.

As posted earlier, Currie uses privately raised funds for things like buying good players.

The only reason it would be even tossed around is because of low costs and predicted population growth. Probably be at least 10 years until we seriously consider it though.

When I watch a Nebraska game I can't help but think about all those thousands of people sitting in horrible endzone seats because the pressbox removed the ability to expand along that side. Whether or not K-State is ready for additional stadium seating shouldn't be the argument. This west side addition is going to have a fairly high level of permanence attached to it and it needs to be done right the first time. If there isn't seating added to the west side in this addition, then K-State might find itself 20 years down the road needing to seat 60,000 and having to stick people in a crappy endzone expansion.....(or I guess K-State could just spend lots of money and tear crap down and start over  :woot:)

IFFFF that ever comes to pass, they'll likely just wrap the East Side Around to (likely) the Legends Room on Bramlage.   In fact, years ago they already had conceptual drawings to do that.    The only thing that would have in common with the architectural monstrosity that is Cornhole Memorial Stadiium is the fact that the seats would be endzone seats.

Couldn't they design it to where you could add approximately 5K to the top of the press box if ever needed? Basically, make a shorter box from endzone to endzone with the capability to add a smaller version of the east side to the top (not to exceed the overall height of the east side).

I've always heard the idea is to eventually connect the bowl and enclose the whole stadium. It would look a lot better and make the stadium a lot louder. When we expand that's almost definitely what we'll do. Once the press box is done the west side won't ever be touched again expansion-wise.

I'd vote for either a rolling roof or a monorail to Aggieville.

A monstrosity of a press box on that side with no more additional seating dwarfs the East side stands more than the East side stands already dwarf themselves.  It would make it look even high schoolier.  The goal here with any expansion should be to make it look as non-high schooley as possible...which starts with yanking out the aluminum bleachers.

Staff reports

The Kansas Board of Regents approved a request, without discussion, by Kansas State University on Thursday to use bonds to fund a $50 million renovation to LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

K-State hopes to start the improvement project following the conclusion of the 2011 football season with the design phase to begin soon.

An architect will be selected this fall so that design can be completed next summer.

The K-State basketball practice facility still remains the top priority for the athletic department with money being raised through private donations due it not being a revenue-generated project.

It is anticipated that the practice facilities will be constructed on the east side of Bramlage Coliseum.

It's speculation that renovations to the football stadium press box will be included in this bond project.

Probably NOT this

My desire is match the east side minus the upper deck normal people seating.
