Update on the Manhattan Classic
« on: February 04, 2010, 08:47:46 PM »
Got this in an e-mail today.

***********
Coaches,

Based on the success on the Manhattan Classic and our desire to accommodate more teams we are moving our signature event to Kansas City.  On May 21-23, we expect to welcome over 100 teams in 6 different age groups which will include 12U – 17U.

Once again, College Coaches Network (CCN), Rivals, Scout, ESPN, Mullen’s Sports and many other scouting services will be in attendance to evaluate some of the countries best talent.  Now in its 3rd year, our event will offer the best competition in the maximum amount of court time and exposure.  We want to remind you that there is a limited amount of teams that we are accepting in each age division and they are filling up fast!

So far, we have commitments to attend from a few top programs to include: Team Texas Elite, Kingdom Hoops, DC Assault, Martin Brothers, Spiece MO-KAN, Texas Ambassadors, etc.

The cost to enter is $450 which is much less than other tournaments that are even further distance away. With the event now being in Kansas City, we will have plenty of hotels, restaurants and shopping for visitors to enjoy.

Our host hotel will be the Overland Park, Marriott.  We will soon have a link on the website with detailed information.  Please visit the tournament website at www.manhattanclassic.net or www.kcclassic.com to fill out registration form(s), register online with a credit card or to get more information on the event.  This will be a great event and we hope you will join us.

That sucks..
NCAA rule change forced the move.  This wasn't the program's idea.

glad to see the classic will live on in some form.  sucks that the ncaa is such a bunch of ass lickers.

Our host hotel will be the Overland Park, Marriott.

That's basically my back yard.  May have to slip down there for a highball in the lounge with Curtis Malone.

We should go knocking on hotel doors with gift baskets wearing KU gear.  Sounds like a fun game.
