Cicadas
« on: August 19, 2010, 12:44:54 PM »
Does it seem like there are a ton of Cicadas this year to anyone else?  Is this one of those crazy 17 year deals? :dunno: Might be just another sign of our impending doom though? :dunno:

I kind of like the sound to tell you the truth.  Jon Cecada and not the bug..

Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

It's probably in my bottom 9 insect related sounds. Really really loud by my mansion.

Lucas was a 1986 flick.  A little respect please, not everyone is over losing Haim yet.

Loud but wonderful.  It's the great plains answer to waves crashing over rocky shoreline.

Koppe is a giant idiot bad person for sure but he's nowhere close to as big of an idiot bad person as others. To my knowledge Koppe has never bought an adult trike or talked to a dog whisperer.

I'm in (or at least VERY near) a big Brood X hotspot. I was outside for around two hours doing yard work and 4 or 5 - that I'm aware of, anyway - either hit me while flying or landed on me. You could see them flying around pretty much everywhere you looked. And the loudness was just unrelenting.

It seemed kinda creepy at first. After a while, though, I was fine with them. It's like getting hit by a jumping grasshopper. Who cares? I thought the experience was a little like going to a different part of the country and seeing an animal you've never seen before. I honestly even started to appreciate it.

Kansas had the cicada invasion like 5 or 6 years ago and to my knowledge isn't part of this year's invasion.

Thank you for bringing life back to this thread!  I dusted off my old Jon Secada CD and have been slamming some Mike's Hard Lemonade and looking up all the gals I bedded to this song back in the day :gocho:(10 years haven't been good to some of them  ).

It's the Brood in DC area that is hatching this year....and it's miserable....just constant humming, sweeping off the deck, constantly getting in the car, the house.....the tree in front of my house....looks like it moving due to having so many cicadas in it

Color is wrong for Kentucky. They've clearly emerged here.
