Apparently Lew is old and senile.

The other thing I always like is the fact that Lew always tries to paint a picture that he went out and raised all the money himself for their facilities improvements, when in reality he borrowed nearly $40 million dollars.   Nothing wrong with borrowing, it's just that Lew always makes it sound like it was the sweat of his big fat hairy senile brow out working the boosters that made it all happen.

The other funny thing is . . . Tardville still believes that Lew runs an $80 million dollar athletic department.   Lew runs a $65 million dollar athletic department that is operating in the red. 

Gotta love the guy though . . . he's taken ku for a ride that even Ron Prince has to admire.   Doesn't know anything, put them $40 million dollars deeper in debt, failed to "understand" that massive money laundering/ticket fraud was taking place just down the hallway . . . and he lived like a king while doing it, and will walk away with millions in his pocket.

Now many in Tardville will understand why Lew is only somewhat liked at 1 out of 3 of his previous employment stops.

Oh, I forgot to mention that ku's fund raising is down $8 million dollars for FY 2010 as compared to FY 2008.    In a Fiscal Year where ku was a Big 12 North Favorite and a Final Four Favorite.

From FY 2008 to FY 2009 total revenues were down $18 million dollars for ku athletics, net revenue was down something like $15 million dollars.    Tardville was convinced that FY 2008 Gross Revenues would be the norm . . . not the exception.

KU's athletic budget was less than $30 million before Perkins took over.  Several years later and that number has more than doubled, while KU continues to compete for national titles in basketball and continues to break attendance records in football.  You can spin away all you want, 'Pad, but the bottom line is that KU is in much better shape now financially than it was before Perkins took over.
