I swear, if any of those fracking hicks try to ruin my festive Farmageddon experience by trying to raise money for and/or remember the losers who couldn't swim, I might choke somebody out with one strap of my overalls.

I couldn't agree more.  I will NOT be observing that moment of silence.

It'll be a good time for a preemptive singing of the Alma Mater.

The spish-splash and the soggy socks make the moldy feet you see. You gotta whoosh WHOOSH all that water to get it to go to the place where the water goes after it's been whooshed and then you get to play with your bouncy ball you see.

Let's get this thread back on track you see. Why don't they just dig a really big hole, you see? That way when the water gets a drip-droppin' and a beeboppin' all over the place it will just go into the big hole you see. You could even put a big plug in it and then pull the plug out and go WEEEEE! and ride around on it like a tornado in a bath tub you see.

Looks like their Corn/Pig God is angry.  Again.  Probably should have built the v-ball team a practice facility.  Hell, the WSU v-ball team has dedicated practice facilities.

Havs, please bring Freddy Oinkberg here to our goEMAW Farmageddon Country Ho-Down Tailgate.  We will make him a little bed in the back of an old Chevy Silverado and feed him some corn.

Probably should have stayed away from goEMAW.com yesterday... 3 hours of sleep and hours of sandbagging= Crabby Havs. People are in much higher spirits today all across Ames and Central Iowa.

The only buildings at ISU in the floodplain are Hilton, Scheman, Jack Trice, and the Lied Rec Center. Every dorm and every classroom at Iowa State will be ready for students for classes this fall. Move-in begins Sunday. The University of Iowa has over half of their campus within a block of the Iowa River and lost almost 1/3 of their buildings in 2008. Students at U of I in 2008 took classes in churches, restaurants, hallways, closets, etc. or were just told to find another school. I'm content with damage to a few athletic facilities if the rest of the campus is high and dry. I've said this time and time again that Hilton was built on the cheapest land possible at the cheapest price possible in 1971 simply because we wanted out of the Old Armory. The same is with Jack Trice and Iowa State wanting out of Clyde Williams Field.

Back when Hilton and Jack Trice were proposed, the last flood in the area now known as the Iowa State Center hadn't had a flood since 1918. That flood was nowhere near as bad as what we saw yesterday. Ames has had THREE "1,000 year floods" (meaning a flood with the likelihood of happening once every 1,000 years) in the last 17 years... In theory, we should now be clear until the year 5010 but I'm not putting my guard down. Expect flood gates to be constructed around Hilton Coliseum in your next few trips to Hilton. I will be extremely surprised if any major renovations are ever made to Hilton again; we may just let Hilton get old and then replace it with a new arena on higher ground somewhere near Welch and Hayward Avenues, and Mortensen Road. In the meantime, Fred Hoiberg will use the following line.... "see, _(insert school here)_ doesn't have a practice facility, if it floods, gets damaged, or is wiped off the face of the earth; you'll be left without your own practice gym... you're much too good to have to practice in a public gym."

Suck it Bramlage.

Suck it wheat field with "Practice Facility Coming Soon" sign.

To be fair, the court is actually floating above the 8 feet of water... in one piece I might add. If thats not Hilton Magic, Hilton Physics is still pretty damn cool.

Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines is where our home games will be played if Hilton is not ready. Last week I actually thought it'd be cool if Farmageddon was played at Wells Fargo and Sprint instead of Hilton and Bramlage. To each his own I guess.

Dude, I saw the video.  And I didn't see an intact court floating.

And I'd rather take a float trip on the Skunk than go to Des Moines for a game.

Weird.  From what I've learned around here, I'd have thought it'd be played in Minneapolis.
