under $5?  no.

big house red in the 3l box.  you can usually get it for $18/box or so.  it's not as good as when grahm ran bonny doon, but for $4.50, i'll drink the crap out of that stuff.

there's other bargains around, including some of the other octavin boxes.  but i'm not really exploring much else as long as i can get this wine at this price.
i buy my mom a bottle of cigar volant every year, she never drinks it.  i do.

I like wine, but I've determined I will not learn to like the good stuff. I did that with beer and there's no going back to crap like bud light. I like cheap wine right now, and as long as I don't start trying more expensive stuff it will stay that way.

We would be perfect drinking buddies. I've given this reason to everyone who has asked me why I don't drink wine. I blow enough money on being a beer snob, I can't start caring about wine too.

my being a loser has nothing to do with the loser-ishness nature of your mom.  In fact it bolsters my claim, i.e. it takes one to know one.

start brewing your own. Then bring some by my place and we can trade homebrews and drink shitty boxed wine. We'll live like the kings of op for a night.

I tried to class up my night and buy the good boxed  wine (black box). It smells of poop and tastes worse than stuff at half its price. Unfortunately I don't have someone to sit across from and discuss all the nuances only to reveal the price at the end of the night. Heard doing that is a blast. Still going to drink all of it though.

within reason.  anyone (and this includes all of you tards) can tell the difference between two buck chuck, a $10 bottle of Mondavi Select and a Frog's Leap Cab.

the whole point of blending varietals is to make the sum of the parts taste better than they would on their own, because they're cheap pieces of crap parts that can't stand on their own.  what a dumbass article.

wish the fashion for varietals wasn't so strong.  good cheap blends are so much easier than good cheap varietals.

sounds like you happy with good cheap blends so why worry about the fashion for varietals?  regardless, it's quite a conundrum isn't it?
